Can you save money using underfloor heating?
Our winters are becoming colder than in some parts of the world, so it is not surprising that many of us have begun to explore our options for heating our homes and work places.
As a result of this we have found heating that requires less investment, as well as being more environmentally friendly, in the form of underfloor heating is now becoming more popular. Here are some ways in which both electric underfloor heating and water underfloor heating can reduce costs in our homes:
The running costs which are associated with an underfloor heating system are far lower than a conventional heating system in the longer term. Water based Underfloor heating reduces the volume of energy used by utilising lower water temperatures. This, in turn, calls for lower output temperatures. In fact, the output temperature required is so low, it’s possible to use a heat pump, as opposed to a boiler, this in turn minimises costs even more.
Underfloor heating features efficient state of the art thermostats for individual rooms. The systems are controlled per room as opposed to just one, which is the case with a traditional radiator system. Just imagine having total control of your property – it is 2017 after all. Thermostats can be programmed in whichever rooms require heating. This improves heating efficiency and creates energy efficiency and as there is no energy wastage in any room where heating is not required. Underfloor heating, in fact, can save between 10% and 30% of energy when compared to a conventional heating system.
By reducing both heating costs and electricity bills, underfloor heating contributes to saving the planet’s natural resources, as well as fossil fuel dependency. Underfloor heating not only saves money, but also plays an important role in helping us help the planet.
